I thought that perhaps John can't be in the running for the money because he won't lose as much weight as the others, and also he won't be tempted to sneak in a bit more exercise and kill himself. Hey if everyone knows he can't win the money then he probalby won't get voted off because he's not a threat!

I figured the phone call would be about his daughter, but they have to add DRAMA!

JJ is a prick, week one and he's already come across as a massive wanker!

I think maybe he won't be eligible to be voted off, since it would be unfair to lump a team with someone who can't participate in physical challenges, can't lose a good percentage of weight and would basically just be an anchor around a team's neck.
But I guess we'll see!

Such a shame, JJ could have been good value on the comedy front, but he's just too much of a dick I think.

I don't really understand that thought process, no. I think JJ is the most obvious standout at the moment, but Sheridan's attitude might also be a problem. There's nothing wrong with standing up for yourself, but if she lectures people like that over smaller things? That'll grate pretty quickly.
I'm hoping that when they start to shed some kilos they start to shed some of the nastiness in their personalities, too. We saw it with Courtney and Munnalita last season, where they both became more likeable towards the end, particularly in Courtney's case.

I sort of doubt JJ is going to be around long enough for that to happen. :)

Plenty of fat people get themselves a partner so I agree, it's probably not just that they're fat! A good personality and sharing interests with someone will help a lot when it comes to a long term relationship. :)

I have a theory that by "serious relationship", Sheridan means "I'm a virgin" and that's why she keeps going on about it. It wouldn't surprise me. Not because she's fat, because she's fucking annoying! I'd rather listen to JJ than her, for reals. He's a wanker but it's fun to see everyone else get so shitty at him. She's just whiny and has no entertainment value!

It pissed me off when Debbie was all "Four of us girls didn't want the fish because we don't eat it" - like she was just waiting for Shannan and Michelle to get down on their knees and worship the selfless non-fish-eating girls for being so generous. Whatevs!

At least she'll shut up if asked though. She piped down when JJ said he was talking. I'm not sure JJ would do the same! ;)

As per the recap, I was pretty unimpressed when she did it too. Just seemed like she was hoping maybe Shannan and Michelle would frown at JJ as well, when they don't really care that much!
