"All through this you can see people in the background training on more exercise gear. What’s with that?"

I noticed this as well... Could it be that the 5th american season was still filming at this time? It would make sense given Bob never seems to be around. The people were wearing black shirts too, and as far as I know that fits in with the timeline of the american season.

Not all of them were wearing blackshirts though. And it looked like a lot of bikes. Like, way more than they'd need even for two whole teams.
Bob and Jillian seem to alternate, rather than both of them all the time.
I believe there was American stuff still being filmed then, yes, but they didn't look like terribly overweight people training back there, soooo?
    It was weird. :)

they started airing on the 1st of January.. maybe they were down to their final (skinnier) 4? And I know that at the start, there were 20.. so maybe.

They're usually still fairly chunky, even at the end though, so I don't know about that, heh.
Maybe it'll get cleared up during the US season if there's a mention of the Australians later on.

The 5th season in the US is a "couples" special. There are twelve teams of two, and each team has a different colour (blue, black, yellow, green, purple, pink, white, grey, brown, orange, etc.). And Boblian is acting as "dynamic duo" and alternate training the teams. So it looks like each of them alternates training the US and Oz contestants.

Anyone else amused that the Red Team took Sam and he only lost 1 kilo??? I am. However, if Red had lost, Sam would be gone. So yeah, I am glad that Sam will be around a while.

Oh, Debbie or Michael for me to go... I just don't really like either of them.

Reckon, being x blue, will be on a plateau, like the other folk on blues.

Perhaps next week he will train like mad and they will all beat the blues again !

To go ? Debbie, and john with his big head.

Heh, yes, I was amused by that. I wasn't surprised Sam had a low week, since he hadn't been eating right and had a huge disruption to his training routine. But I'm glad Red got over the line, since it would have sucked to see him go so soon.

I wouldn't be sad to see Michael go either, no. Though it would provide fewer opportunities to go OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH. ;)

It's possible that's all it was, yeah. I think it was probably partly his not eating right and the shakeup of changing teams as well, so he lost even less than he should on his plateau.
Next week he ought to do much better though. :)
